To celebrate Indonesian Language's Month(that is October), my school held competitions, such as drama, musicals of poem, comic, and wall magazine.

The time for preparing was really little, so we can't really prepared much.

But at least, we have prepared the best even though only in such a time. The drama was just today. My class worked pretty hard to make the funny drama. Sadly, no one laughed. Some of my friends felt down and sad because of it. Most of them said that because we are in a special class and it cause other to mock our drama no matter how good or bad it is.

Well, I don't have any picture about the drama today. I personally think that my class' drama was awesome! In addition, I think the main cause is due to a problem that we haven't practiced using mic and our voice weren't heard properly, not because of discrimination to my class. But I do admit that I also feel the discrimination, still.

Kolintang

A brief explanation about it:
Kolintang is a typical musical instrument of the Minahasa (North Sulawesi), the base material is wood that if hit could emits a fairly long sound and can reach high or low notes. The examples of the wood that being used are: kayu telur, bandaran, wenang, kakinik. (kind of timber rather mild but quite dense and the wood fibers arranged in such a way as to form parallel lines).
In my school, the music lesson is for the tenth grade. When I was in the 10th grade, each class divided into teams to play traditional songs. It was fun and nice for me since I can also learn again to play the kolintang, besides, I can also learn more about Indonesian culture.

Fun P.E Lesson

It was another P.E lesson for me, but it was another fun too XP
Check out the video <3
1st video: I think our substitute teacher was pretty cool when he kicked the ball
2nd video: Yeah, our mascot >.< (coming soon)
Actually I have another funny video but it can’t be uploaded D:
On that pretty windy, sunny day,(October 5, 2010) the girls played basketball while the boys played soccer. I was one of the chosen to play for my class for the basketball game.
The others team seemed not to be in the mood of playing the game, so when we were about to shoot the ball, they just waited patiently J
Besides that, some nice things were when we tried so hard just to get the ball inside the ring, I watched the video and laughed. XD  Just watch the video! You will see what’s I’m talkin’ about.
The lesson I got was it will be fun if you have friends to play with. Everybody needs friends ;)

Edu fair 27/8/2010

That was on Friday, August 27, 2010 when our school held another EduFair (Education Fair). It was from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. Lots of universities are participating ( from abroad too! ) and also some education consultant.
Our job as students was to collect the information and followed the universities’ presentation which is divided within our classes. We just need to follow the schedule given.
I think this event is really helpful for us to know further about the place where we will be going soon =)

Badminton 21/8/2010

Our class was joining the badminton play just for fun. We have this nice badminton time on the Paradise Sport Club, which is near to our school. We played together with the teacher, their spouse, and also with the native voluntary teacher. It was fun; I remembered that I made two shuttlecocks stuck on the lamp which was hanging above me. Naughty me .LOL :P
This activity is definitely for gaining a better relationship between our class and the teachers. Some other good impacts are we also get a good health and increase solidarity between friends too.

Independence Day 2010

So, it was our independence day once again. This year was not the same as the previous year, that’s because our independence day accidentally was also at the same time with the Ramadhan month (fasting time for Muslim).
We get the conclusion to still focus on the ceremony even in hungry state ( because of fasting) . For people who are not fasting must also support each other in our lovely independence day.
We celebrated our independence day just by ceremony and some competitions. For example: tug of war (tarik tambang), also some relay competition to break the balloon, and then do sack race, and continued by eating crackers competition.

Me           :See the picture above to answer this question:
Which one is the native teacher?
You         :Geez, that's a perfectly easy question. The ans…
Me           :Incorrect! If that’s easy, why are you still making mistake on it? The answer is not a perfectly bla blab la but the top right and bottom left picture.
You         : ZZZzzzz

Okay so let me explain this new voluntary teacher, her name Is Laura Verena de Guevara. Though, by talking to her, I feel that she seems to be ignoring the ‘Verena’ name; besides, her name on facebook is without the “Verena” too.
She has father, mother, one older brother, one best best friend, and one boyfriend.
This nice person is from Germany. Why did I say nice?
1.     Polite
In my imagination, people from the West Country love to use bikini or stuff like that and they also love to insult so much. Laura at least understands that she is in Indonesia and she keeps her clothes tidy and not sexy. Insulting is just something like, “Aww, that sucks!” or”Damn!” but not in angry condition at all.
2.     Doesn’t ask much
Some people can’t adapt well and want the stuff that they usually with. However, this so called 20-year-old girl is different. She adapts with the facilities that my family prepares and doesn’t ask much stuff; which is definitely a great help for us.

Oh, wait. Don’t tell me you still don’t get the hang of these?
Oh dear! How can I say so much about her? Its because she is staying with my family.
And its for free, just for 4 months.
She teaches us (students of Krista Mitra Junior and Senior High School) without we need to pay anything to her, but we must prepare the things she needs for her daily life.  That’s what so called voluntary life in Germany.
Well, it’s my consequence at the first time when I said to the teacher that I’m willing to take care of her as part of our family. However,:
1.       We have some problems with the electricity in our house. The electricity can’t really handle 3 air conditioners (AC) at the same time. The users of the AC are my parents, Laura, and me.
Since she wants a separate room, it means more electricity needed. And yeah, each night, either my parents or I must turn off the AC in our room in order to keep the electricity on.
----I admit that it must be hard for her to adapt in such a hot country compared to her country, but I’m also need AC at least D: It’s pretty annoying to study in a hot condition.
But I said it once more that this is my responsibility of my words. I must not complaint in any matter. =)
1 Thesalonians 5:16 “Always be joyful”
After all, comparing everything, we still always have much more better things than the worst one. So why do we just focus on the bad one?
-------------------------
Aww, dear. Guess what I have just found? Her blog while she is staying In Indonesia. Pretty interesting since it includes her comment about my family. Come and take a look:
Use google translator to translate. ^^

Korean Guest 6/8

From Korea with Love, I think that’s a nice title actually. That title is from the kristamitra website. Tee-he
So that was on the August 6, 2010 when two mini buses of Korean people arrived at our school that morning. I saw by my own eyes when the two buses entering our school. After a while, they approached our administration building and greeted friendly our teachers and principal and also bowing to them. And another interesting thing was that the spoke in Indonesian language, even just a very little of it. =D
They came to our hall and watched our kolintang performance. In return, they sang two songs for us, one in Indonesia and one in Korean. While they sang the Korean song, they were touched and cried.
My class (now is XI Science 1 or XI EICT) and our junior (X-1 or X EICT) were lucky because we got the chance to watch them ^ ^
The little Korean girl also gave candies to us, but I haven’t got it ):
We learn their culture and share each other was the main important thing I found from our meeting. It increase our knowledge about other country as well.

Thursday, July 15, 2010

On a bright shinny morning, exactly at the July 12, 2010, my school held the church service to start the new school year 2010/2011. Well, I wasn't sure, but the issue I heard was that it was the first time our school held the church service as an opening for the new school year. (Sadly, I also forgot whether I have this church service last year or not).
In my opinion, this church service to start our lesson is an important thing to do. Why? Simply because we need to always lean on God before doing anything. This church service will be a symbol of our gratitude to God for the previous year and asking for another blessing to continue our journey on the new school year.

Yep, that was the first time I met all of my other friends and teachers again after a long deep sleep (LOL. holiday, duh!). Can you guess something that still not changing at all on me from the previous year and this year? Uhh, well... Yes, I was late again. I think it’s not too early in the morning. The service started at about 8 A.M.(If I'm not wrong) but the fact that I'm still late is pretty annoying =.=
For now let just do my best not to be late again.

>Paragon 18/6/2010

Paragon mall was still pretty new that time. For our farewell party with Thea, we celebrated it in Paragon. The members were the double date participant and two singles. LOL
We watched the KarateKid! A really good movie, I think. We also met a lot of friends, such as: Cynthia Inneke (Krismit SHS ) and friends, Yovita (my elementary school friend), and so on.
What amazed them was that actually I used the dress made from Batik textile that left from the Batik day’s competition.

Kara - Lupin 16/6/2010

It was the end of the school year 2009. We have some competitions at the school such as: Krismit Got Talent, made creation from plastic bottle, made creation from old newsprint, and futsal(kind of soccer) competition.
From our class, the selected group decorated a bottle to become like an angel; made the ring from old newsprint; and also performed Kara-Lupin dance for the Krismit Got Talent competition.
I was one of the dancers. Check out the video, I’m the one with the longest hair ^^ Lots of my teachers can’t believe that I actually can dance.
Well, our class doesn’t win any of the competition except the dance part! We got the second rank! Yippie!
This activity increases our bravery since we must show our dance in front of public and of course assist in enhance flexibility of our body. :P

Thursday, June 10, 2010

I remembered this time was just near of our farewell with Thea, my classmate. Her family will move to Jakarta soon. It was pretty sad that time. What I remembered from the picture above was that we asked for the pin, school paper, and school hat from her. Well, after all, Thea will not need it anymore XP

Other Group, PeterPot

The teacher gave us the English Drama assignment. Our team made our script based on the story of Sleeping Beauty. I got the role as the queen! Mwaahahaha… I’m ruling!
Why it is called private? Because on the scheduled time, our team haven’t got the chance to perform in front of others and so we asked for another time to perform. The teacher said we must do it after school, which is a good thing! Why? No one will watch us, our other classmates were already leaving, and therefore, we can act as free as we want >.<
Practicing drama also indeed increase our talent on acting, speaking with the right intonation, gesture, and a lot.
The picture was taken after the drama finished. ^^” See the picture and guess which one is me? The pink lovely one. <3

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Each class must take a nice photo to be displayed on the school catalogue, so my class went to Rehuel Safira’s photo studio (She is my classmate). The name of the studio is Spot Studio Photography. We decided to take the theme of sleeping time, so we used our pajamas.
I know that it supposed to be hard to arrange a time when all of the members of the class can join together to take picture. It is pretty nice to figure out that our class is united and always priority the class meeting rather than individual activity. This activity helps us to be united.

Noticed the tittle? Got any idea about what is that? ^^
So, the story was like this:
My class went to the UKSW (Satya Wacana University) at Salatiga to watch the theatrical Midsummer Night Dream, one of the creations from William Shakespeare. It was awesomely awesome! I love their costume, fairy things, and also the dress that they sell. Sadly, we were hurried back home that night after watching the drama; so I haven’t got the chance to order the dress. NOOOOO!!! T_T
The main story of the Midsummer Night Dream is we must still believe in love.
By watching the drama, we can also learn how to perform a big scale drama, improving our listening, learning the technique in making the drama, and also we can get more friends there too^^

Open house 13/2/2010

This Krista Mitra open house is for introducing Krista Mitra High School to others. We opened the food bazaar, held the band competition among senior schools, English Drama ( a funny one, made me laugh XD ), and so on. We also invited an singer artist, named Judika from Jakarta. Sadly I missed the time to watch her, well but I’m just fine with it.
Open house is a good way so that people can see by their own eyes how the school was. They can decide by themselves about our school.
