Be grateful always (2)

The construction actually changed the bus stop location so I missed my bus. I then needed to wait 50 mins for the next bus, plus 6 more mins again because the bus is delayed. And I waited in the HEAT of 40C. My phone ran out of battery, so I asked the bus driver to stop at Camden hospital. But he went through it. Luckily, another passenger heard that I requested to stop at Camden hospital and pressed the stop button for me. I was late still but I'm grateful because there was that very nice passenger, the bus has AC, and learnt more about EGG application at the hospital. Thanks to God, teaching me to be grateful in the little thing. 😋

Sun 27 Nov- Thu 1 Dec 2016 marked my first mission week. I did not expect that I will learn this much, and how exhausting it actually was. But the joy is worthwhile!!!

Sunday
There are many parishes /services time!
Oaks traditional 8 am
Oakdale traditional 8.30am
Oaks Family 10 am
- Lunch with Davey family (Paul, Lorraine, kids Hanna yr 6, Britanny yr 4, Gabrielle yr 1 and Josh kindie - kids learnt compulsory Indonesian) - They do gardening and having chickens, in which Cream (white) is the cutest one- my personal opinion of course. They are apparently experienced with chess, music (piano, trumpet), running.
- 2 hours nap
Oaks evening service (with the dog) -> will be changed to youth 7 pm

What I mainly learn is to share a testimony.
Start with background (Name, nickname, when I came to Australia, past study, current study)
Father Catholic, Mother Buddhist (learnt about Jesus at uni) -> Finally all changed to Christian
I was born in a Christian family, and it is important to have continuous church-ing ;)

Roman Catholic issue is that they use sacraments like a way to earn grace
catholic actually means "whole"
The word catholic (with lowercase c; derived via Late Latin catholicus, from the Greek adjective καθολικός (katholikos), meaning "universal"[1][2]) comes from the Greek phrase καθόλου (katholou), meaning "on the whole", "according to the whole" or "in general", and is a combination of the Greek words κατά meaning "about" and ὅλος meaning "whole"

Monday
Started discussion about the Bishop, archbishops (at Darling point), diocese system. The spending:
- like 2.6 mil for Moore College to keep its prime location near USYD and being culturally relevant! Glebe = tithe of land
- the Town Hall office (which could be rented and moved to cheaper location)
- the old cathedral which can be sold rather than maintained with huge cost
- average $100,000/year for a fully funded church
Parish is better than mega church. Make Bible study to be more of a dialogue meeting or DNA Discover Nurture Act - to welcome newcomers
Picton is the geographic centre
A church should be planting 15 church per year to keep up with the population growth
Anglican minister can be sacked due to infidelity (unfaithful) or mental disability/crazy
Sociology (to stick in an organization/ church)
1. like the service instantly
2. 3 significant relationships (common interests e.g. demography or kids) within 3-6 months
3. role e.g. morning tea within 12 months

Scripture practice @Adam's

Tuesday
Combined scripture assembly 3x (2x Oaks and 1x Oakdale)
yr 5-6 are harder to engage but can do deeper conversation than younger ones
Memory verse, skit of two kings, song/dance, memory verse
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" Matt 10:45
lunch at Scripture teachers party
doorknock invites 3-4pm
- dog attacks
- I don't have key to the front door
- ok, thanks
- holiday for Christmas
 - not my thing
dinner at Adam's

Wednesday
9 am learning about different model of churches and its life cycle, the rural church challenges and a case study of Oaks church dialogue
lunch with Suyen? about her question regarding the Bible at Paul's home. Her boy is in the Catch 4 kids
Visit Dorothy (4-4-1924) who can only lay in bed but memorize the prayer book. Her daughter Judith is, however, an unbeliever. Levinya gave Judith the supply list to help with Dorothy's mobility
3.30-5pm The Catch 4 Kids - smoothie " you are what you put in." Teacher Mrs. P (Amanda)(aww, her daughter is so similar with her face) and Mr. G (Ian)
6-.30-8pm The Catch - youth group - Q&A reverse. With teacher Verity with Glen?, Greg. We have questions on:
- die choosing Christ or live denying Him initially (but still believe in Christ)? No, your faith even until dying can convince others
- why some people are stupid and rejecting Christ? because God hardens their hearts
- euthanasia?
> illegal, what we can do is stopping life support or doing palliative care (focus on easing pain and good death)
> opposite of Hypocratic Oath
> "Acts 17:26 God set the times of people on earth"
Talk with Loraine, about ministry salary - 30% - but uncle deposited wrongly, so Loraine need to start working
discussed Indonesian homework of Josh

Be grateful always

I was about to complain. If I catch up past 2 lectures but then unable to come for the next 2 lectures, what's the point? Then my friend messaged me that he couldn't even come because of sickness.

Point is priority learning is important. Study what's best and make sure of adequate sleep! Be grateful always =)
